FlightScore™ Associates, a 501(c)(3) organization, exists to provide informal education for students to explore, develop, and pursue interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Drones are transforming the way industries capture information—from sweeping movie shots to inspections, surveying, agriculture, and more. When a camera glides effortlessly beside a moving object, there’s a good chance a drone is behind the scene.
Our program introduces students to the rapidly growing small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) industry. Participants learn the foundational skills of drone piloting, gain hands-on experience with camera drones, and discover real-world career pathways in fields such as film production, surveying, and infrastructure inspection.
Students also have the opportunity to prepare for an industry-recognized certification, giving them a competitive edge as they explore STEM education and future careers.


Participants in the FlightScore Drone and Robotics program use sUAS while developing transferable skills for future employment and careers in STEM fields. These skills can begin as early as elementary school through block-based coding techniques. In addition, beginner-friendly electronics training introduces students to components, circuits, and other essential high-technology fundamentals that support pathways into science, technology, engineering, and math occupations.

Knowledge acquisition is not confined to the classroom. It requires educators to provide a combination of opportunity broadening exposure to informal learning. Drones are one of several available options facilitating this exposure. In addition, the application of robotics combine theory with design and fabrication for an outcome in efficiency.
Research

wDrone piloting skills are forecast for growth in keeping pace with increases in workforce demand through 2030. This is reflected through growing interest in FAA’s Part 107 UAS Certification. This identified need and solution places an emphasis on the ability of institutions to train workers to meet this demand.
STEM literacy, critical thinking, collaboration and effective communication are soft skills developed in the ‘FlightScore Drone and Robotics Program.’ In fact, applying informal learning enables participants to develop these attributes while advancing career prospects.


The FlightScore Drone and Robotics Program enhance awareness of civic responsibility. It does this by bringing young minds together for a common outcome benefitting all stakeholders. We promote today’s youth becoming tomorrow’s leaders by granting access to a collaborative community focused on creating educational opportunity for all.
